CPE Retractable Rotor Mixer

Hygienic, fast and the ability to produce a quality mix, are just some of the features of the new RETRACTABLE ROTOR MIXER designed and manufactured by Chemical Plant & Engineering (CPE).

The CPE Retractable Rotor Mixer was designed in the interest of enhancing mixer performance and utilization. The unique design reduces downtime for cleaning between batches and minimizes the potential for cross contamination.

An easy to access mixing chamber and minimum trapping points for dust and foreign contaminants, ensures a more reliable and repeatable cleaning process and hygienic mixing environment. Body construction also provides the structural integrity with minimum stiffeners and trap points.

Flexicon Conveyor Fits Tight Spaces & Cleans Easily

A new Bulk Conveyor from Flexicon, with Tilt-Down Portable Base fits through tight spaces and provides easy access for removal of the flexible screw.

It features a reduced footprint that enables the castor-mounted frame to manoeuvre through narrow aisles and around corners. With the hopper, support boom and conveyor assembly tilted down, the unit fits through standard doorways and orients the conveyor tube horizontally, allowing the flexible screw to be removed easily for thorough cleaning and inspection.

Nu-Con Release Next Generation Rotary Valves

Nu-Con has now officially released the next generation of the Rotor Detection System (RDS2) for Rotary Valves. Nu-Con’s ‘Rotor Detection System’ is already extensively used by both food and infant formula manufactures when rotor scrapping must be immediately detected to prevent the contamination and downgrading of the product.

A rotor may come in contact with a valve housing, if a valve is incorrectly assembled, or if process conditions change and product temperature increase substantially causing expansion within the Valve. When fitted with Nu-Con RDS, a warning signal is sent to the operators via the plant SCADA System, allowing the valve to be automatically shut down, or even prevented from starting up, if a faulty condition exists after reassembly.

Major Spillage Problem Solved

Recently a North Queensland ship loading facility conveying Lead Concentrate, replaced their existing skirting system with ESS 2000 Lay-In Skirting. The application required stainless steel materials to prevent corrosion due to the over ocean location.
With a capital outlay of approximately $7000 for the ESS-2000 Skirting system, the return on investment is expected to be only three and a half months, given that the clean up costs were $260 per hour.
Reduced spillage means that there is less wear and tear on components and a safer, sleaner, more productive bulk materials handling facility.
